Town of Freudenberg opts for Agresso Public Sector

Sliedrecht, the Netherlands, 10 January 2008

With the town of Freudenberg, Agresso has acquired its first customer for Agresso Public Sector - a new ERP solution for public administration departments in Germany. Last November, Agresso launched the new ERP solution to cater to the specific requirements of the public sector. Agresso Public Sector is based on an extremely flexible software architecture and, as a result, offers new perspectives for the increasingly process-oriented nature of administration.

To date, the town of Freudenberg, with its some 20,000 inhabitants, has organised its budgetary planning using Kirp series 7 financial software. Following an in-depth selection procedure, the town has now opted for Agresso  Public Sector. The key factor for this decision was above all the agility of the software that enables users to implement changes themselves, which in turn produces significant savings in terms of operating costs. This is made possible by the innovative architecture, whose formula for success reads: business model = process model = data model.

Agresso Public Sector supplies administration executives with aggregate information. Integrated standard reports plus easy-to-generate individual analyses are adapted in line with the specific requirements of German administration departments and thus ensure transparency in all sections of the administration. What is more, workflows specially adapted to the town of Freudenberg help to reduce long administrative routes and paper between the various modules.

"We chose Agresso Public Sector because we were convinced by the versatility of the solution and the associated cost efficiency. In addition, thanks to thissolution, we can be sure that we are ready equipped for the New Municipal Financial Management system (NKF) coming into force on 1st January 2009," says Jörg-Michael Schrader, treasurer of the town of Freudenberg. "Since Agresso also produces Kirp series 7, we expect the solution to be migrated seamlessly," continues Mr Schrader.

Dieter Große-Kreul, Managing Director of Agresso Germany, on acquiring this customer: "We are delighted to have acquired our first customer for our Agresso Public Sector with the city of Freudenberg. Agresso Public Sector allows us to offer an innovative, future-oriented solution, which supports municipalities in the ongoing modernisation of their administrative tasks. This offers good prospects for our position in the German public sector market."
