Unit 4 Agresso to change distribution model in France

Sliedrecht, the Netherlands, 12 February 2008

Unit 4 Agresso intends to change the distribution model for it’s ERP solution Agresso Business World in France mid 2008. The direct sales and implementation activities will be converted into an indirect sales model.

In the new situation Unit 4 Agresso will remain the licence-owner and will thus continue to be responsible for the maintenance and product development. The sales and implementation activities and the accompanying employees and assets will be transferred to the management by means of a management buy out (MBO). Currently the discussions with  Agresso France's management are at an advanced stage.

In 2007 substantial work was carried out to finalize specific products and projects such as "Agresso public" and "Agresso education". At the beginning of 2008 most of the current projects have been completed and the focus can now shift to building on a profitable future. Both local management and the staff have explicitly expressed their faith in the future and have concretized this by means of the intention for this MBO.

In the intended new situation the maintenance contracts and the ownership of the localized product will remain with Unit 4 Agresso, resulting in a strong balance sheet for Agresso France with ample means and equity for an independent future. Agresso France will act as a partner and distributor of Agresso Business World. It will also be agreed, that, as a partner, Agresso France will continue the helpdesk activities, employing the current employees. Customers and prospects will experience nothing but advantages from this change.

CFO Edwin van Leeuwen: "This decision entirely fits our strategy to expand our distribution and partner networks to more countries. After years of intense work to localize our product in France for specific target markets, we now feel the time is ripe for Agresso France to act independently as a partner. Risk, return, entrepreneurship and
responsibility were decisive factors in this."
